*Comments: When booking is complete (final deadline usually a few days before camp starts), the data from the sign-up website needs to be exported and imported into a laptop for use on the sign-in desk. This laptop has previously been running a [[https://github.com/mikebharris/BAMS| bespoke software]] for this purpose.

=Roles=

*Task: Decide what roles will be required at the event and have a plan for them to be filled

*Previous methods: IIRC there was a Production Manager each day, for general co-ordination, and also a manager of each space, ensuring that things started on time and that workshops etc had the equipment they needed. Also welcomers at the desk ... probably more

*Volunteers: Naomi

*Comments: I think it might be worth having more than one person in a welfare/conflict resolution type role. Not sure if this has been a role before. Obviously hope won't be needed but worth assigning just in case.

=Entertainment=

*Task: organise music, performances, fun things

*Previous methods: Open mic, Raveoke, shamanic laptop healing (??)

*Volunteers:

=Stuff=

*Task: working out what kit is needed over and above what working groups will take their own responsibility for, and arranging for it to appear (see https://mbharris.co.uk/articles/barncamp-a-diy-skillsharing-event/#crucial-things-to-organise)

*Volunteers:

=Dosh=

*Task:

**sourcing money to buy things that are needed, working out what to do about expenses, setting ticket prices / recommended donations / whatever the nice way to say it is

**accounting for cash on-site and keeping it safe

**checking the bank account

*Volunteers: Mark can access the bank account

*Comments: Need one cash box for the bar and one for the sign-in desk

=Liaison with Highbury Farm=

*Task: Confirm dates, what will be paid in return for what - ongoing updates as date approaches

*Volunteers: Mark

*Comments: Mark has started this process but has asked for another person to be co-contact going forward

=Facilitation of the planning process=

*Task: keep an eye on things to ensure everything needed has someone taking responsibility for it; keep on eye on decision making to ensure it is happening and is equitable

*Volunteers: Naomi

Revision as of 21:41, 12 April 2019

If you are interested in any of the following tasks please see this invaluable resource for info and ideas: https://mbharris.co.uk/articles/barncamp-a-diy-skillsharing-event/#getting-things-going

Please enter more tasks below as you think of them.

Feel free to start a wiki page for each task and break it down into subtasks - some of them are very big!

For tasks that involve making decisions, obviously very small decisions can be made by individuals or working groups but for larger ones the task involves enabling the wider group to come to a consensus
