Wilhelm Reich - history and influence

Format
talk
Proposed by
Gremble
Length
45mins
Equipment
flip charts or whiteboard, projector, seating.
Description
We'll look at WRs life story very briefly, but concentrate on his political ideas and influence in various fields of study. Though it's hard to ignore the whole UFOs, cloudbusting and Orgone aspect, his political theories and academic influence but are barely sited. We'll go through his practical therapeutic work and his idea of 'work democracy' from "The Mass Psychology of Fascism". A force for liberation of the mind and body, Reich's work changed us and an understanding of his work can change us more.

Practical Gamification

Format
talk/workshop
Proposed by
Gremble
Length
60mins
Equipment
flip charts or whiteboard, seating.
Description
Gamification is like a trick, a make believe. From a seemingly natural part of life for some people with ASD, it's become a trick that's being used by educators and businesses. We'll look at a bit of the theory, how it helps with ADHD and further is of use to everyone. We'll dive into a practical exercise and change a formerly mundane tasks presented by the participants into delightful and rich experiences.

What are a Plasma?

Format

Proposed by
Gremble/John
Length
60mins
Equipment
Area with no flammable objects. Eye protection goggles. Power supply.
Description
There are many ways to create plasma, and they all look great. We hope to bring some craziness back and put the lab back into HacktionLab by taking on this fourth fundamental state of matter. John will use sciences words we don't understand, and we'll look at the pretty lights.
